12/3/05 The Double Cluster in Perseus

This rich starfield in Perseus is visible with the naked eye from dark locations and is a breathtaking sight when viewed through binoculars or a telescope. This is an object I would never have imaged before I picked up the Tak FC-60 because of the narrow field of view of the LX200, even at F6.3. The data was gathered using unguided 1 minute subs. When processing this image I tried to capture what it looks like visually through a small scope. I also added a small number of difraction spikes via software using the wonderful Photoshop actions available from Noel Carboni.
