Posted 7/17/06 - Open Cluster NGC7209

This is a pretty open cluster in the small constellation of Lacerta near Cygnus in the heart of the Milky Way. On this night I was performing focus training using FocusMax and the RoboFocus that I have attached to my Tak refractor. At the end of the training session I decided to zip off some unguided shots of this faint cluster. I combined the RGB data and then created a synthetic luminance layer by desaturating the RCG image. I then brightened and sharpened the synthetic LUM and added it back in as the luminance layer. I also used Noel Carbone's add diffraction spikes action which I like to use on my open cluster images.
