6/11/04 M24 Region in Serpens

As noted in the next caption, my friend Dave Snay came over for some imaging and some observing on a very clear but turbulent night. After he left I decided to take some wide field shots to take advantage of the transparency and to minimize the turbulence that plays havoc with images at longer focal lengths. The teapot was on the rise and looking beautiful so I pointed the scope at M24 and started some piggyback imaging using a 55mm camera lens. This image is about 10 degrees high and 6 degrees wide, North is up and I've labeled some of the more prominent features.
