6/19/05 M16 The Eagle Nebula

In the light of excited Hydrogen Alpha. This is the first light image for my new Astronomik 14nm HA filter. The shot was taken under near direct full moonlight. I had been using a 4.5nm HA filter, but the very narrow bandpass required a very large amount of exposure time. I'm really pleased with the way the new filter performed on this dusty area. It would have taken 3 times as long with the old filter to get anything near this level of detail.
