4/27/03 Spiral Galaxy M100

A beautifully structured spiral galaxy reminiscent of the pinwheel M101 but with a smaller apparent size due to it's longer distance from Earth (56 million light years). In addition to the wonderful spiral, elliptical galaxies NGC 4322 and NGC 4328 can be seen at 11 o'clock and 9 o'clock respectively.
